We'll be making our Valentine envelopes during our party on Feb. 12, so you do not need to make a box at home! I will be sending home a list of names soon for you to write Valentine's if you wish.
Also, we will be collecting box tops the end of Feb. Please send in any you have, trimmed please!

FIELD TRIP!
We will be going to the Nature Center tomorrow! Our bus leaves at 10:30am and we'll return around 1:15pm. Don't forget to bring your lunch from home or if you ordered a sack lunch from school, we'll get it in the morning! I can't wait to learn about Native Americans.

January Big Ideas
Here are some of thing things that we will be studying this month:- Reading: Making inferences, compare and contrast, drawing conclusions
- Language arts; Verbs
- Writing: Persuasive Book Reviews
- Social Studies: Native Americans
- Science: Heat and Light
- Math: Geometry, using pictures and models to solve story problems, multliplication
- We'll also continue to work on cursive, writing our own stories, and rocket math.
It should be a great month!

Welcome back and happy 2010! I hope that you had a wonderful break! I know that I did, which makes me a little behind on the class blog. Sorry!
The big thing to remember is that we are going to the nature center next week, TUESDAY JAN 12. We'll be eating lunch there and learning about Native Americans.
I'm so glad to see you all and word hard together for the rest of this school year!
